Dubai/Abu Dhabi 2019 (Part 1)

Hi friends! Hope you guys are doing great. You all know that I recently visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi with family and can’t stop going gaga over it on all of my social media platforms by posting so many pictures over an over again from the trip. Social Media is such a fun way to express your love for a place or excitement for any new thing happening in one’s life. It’s a blessing and curse, both, depending on what you take positively as. This was my second visit to Dubai and undoubtedly it’s listed on my favourite places to visit again and again for shopping (of course ūüėČ ) and for leisure too. The tourist attractions and technology in Dubai is so fast developing and eye catching. Their architectural designs for sky¬†scraper¬†buildings and aesthetics is just like a treat to¬†the eyes. Plus everything is so well maintained and clean with zero crime and pollution in the city. Isn’t it a thing for¬†applauding? Rules and regulations are strictly maintained and followed. The people there are so respectful towards each other, the tourist and helpful as well. Public transports be it a cab, metro or bus is so clean. It was a good 7 day break for me from the mundane. So let’s break it down day wise as I have so many stories to share.

Day 1 was kept solely for travelling from Mumbai to Dubai and enjoying the luxurious International airports and Duty Free shopping of both cities. Hence I kept my look really easy and warm at the same time to protect myself from some airport cool. We had a 3 PM flight to catch from Mumbai via Emirates and landed in Dubai at 5:30 PM sharp. Emirates flights are so clean and comfortable. It’s the best medium to fly International. But the airport formalities and all the waiting/walking that happens while check in or after landing tends to make you exhausted. Plus the Dubai International airport has¬†an endless path¬†to cover before the immigration counter finally arrives and then the luggage belt. By the time we reached our hotel, it was 8 PM and the day was almost over for us to cover anything. Hence we relaxed for¬†some time¬†in our luxurious hotel named “Atana” and then left to visit ‘Mall of Emirates’ for a little shopping and then dinner. Ticked off ‘Shake Shack’ from my wish list. The burger and fries are so yummy and scrumptious. You have to have it when in Dubai. Dubai weather was so cool and pleasant, it almost took¬†our hearts away. We were looking forward for a fresh start¬†the next morning.

The second day began with a bang by visiting my most favourite and awaited place to be ticked off from the list, ‘Dubai Marina Bay’. There is no place like Marina Bay ever. I can sit here by the bay and keep staring at the people passing by and the beautiful sky¬†scrapers¬†for hours together. The cool wind, morning sunshine and pleasant weather¬†were¬†just like¬†the cherry¬†on the ice cream. We sat there for quite a while, enjoyed hot coffee in the cool weather, walked along the bay, took plenty of pictures and filled our hearts with evergreen memories. This place has so much calmness to offer in the midst of the sea and some beautiful yachts parked by the bay. There are so many beautiful cafes and restaurants near¬†the bay in case you want to indulge in some delicious and¬†varied¬†cuisine.¬†Didn’t¬†wanted to leave¬†ever, but¬†had no choice.
Our next stop for the day was ‘The Outlet Village’. Since we visited Dubai at the time of ‘Dubai Shopping Festival’, we wanted to take complete advantage of that and hence what better way to begin shopping from the outlet village or malls where they offer additional discounts on some¬†luxury¬†brands. Added few renowned brands to my kitty from the sale and hopped on to ‘Dubai Mall’ via cabs with our hands full of shopping bags. FYI – If you like walking, metros are the best and cheap way to cover the city. Or else cabs are easily available at the gate of your hotel or malls or any other place you visit (but cabs can get a little pricey).
The agenda at Dubai Mall was shopping again and then dinner of course. Visited the most talked about makeup store ‘Charolette Tilbury’. The interiors and the set up were mind blowing. Plus the good looking staff was on toes to help and suggest you with the products, their usage and availability. Added a few best sellers products from the brand to my makeup vanity. Then was the time to fill our tummies with some yummilicious dinner and head back to the hotel to grab some good night sleep. Tried ‘Wendy’s’ for the first time and was taken off my feet. They have some amazingly fulfilling burgers to offer. So tasty and fresh at the same time. By-the-way choosing what to eat from the huge variety of cuisines offered at the Dubai Mall Food Court is a task in itself.

Day 3

The third day was all about spending some peaceful time in the greens and at the shore at ‘Dubai Miracle Garden’ and ‘La Mer’ Beach respectively. We visited the garden first. The Dubai Miracle Garden is amazingly huge, beautifully covered with greenery and colourful flowers all over and tremendously clean. I wish I could capture pictures at every nook and corner, but it is not humanly possible as the garden is spread quite wide. Some insane walking will take place if you wish to cover the entire garden in one visit. And if you are good at it, then there’s no stopping. The¬†ginormous¬†cartoon installations made¬†in¬†the garden¬†are¬†just beautiful. The creativity speaks for itself loudly. The larger than life installations made out¬†of¬†flowers or grass is worth the watch. So neat and eye catching. I have no words to describe the beauty and serenity of this place. It took us almost half the day to cover the place. These places are usually shut in summer seasons. So in case you are planning to visit Dubai sometime soon, plan it accordingly as I am sure you might not want to miss these places.
The next place to cover on the list was ‘La Mer’ Beach. It was exorbitantly chilled on the beach. The beaches are so clean and mesmerizing in Dubai. Plus, they offer enormous activities to keep adults and kids busy at the same time. We spent the entire evening sitting by the beach and enjoying the chilled weather. We also captured the serenity of this place in our hearts and in pictures.

This day was crazy as we tried covering 3 places and were quite successful also. The first place to be ticked off the list was ‘Atlantis, The Palm’. The last time I visited Dubai, I stayed a night at this hotel and the experience was luxurious, worth every penny. This time I was just a tourist enjoying the beauty of this place from the outside. This place has an entry for the visitors to the shopping avenue which is connected to the hotel. Also, there’s¬†entry allowed to the ‘Lost Chambers’ aquarium from the avenue itself. I¬†have visited¬†the aquarium last¬†time, hence¬†preferred walking pass it this time. After taking a brief stroll at the shopping avenue, it was time to leave for the next destination of the day.
The next stop for the day was ‘Dubai Frame’. If in Dubai, this place is a must visit. Located near Zabeel Park, it should actually be counted amongst the wonders of the world. Dubai Frame is surrounded by a huge park where you can relax and rejuvenate while enjoying the signing and dancing water fountain. This frame allows you to go 150 meters¬†off the ground level. It provides a contrasting view of Old Dubai from one side of the frame and New Dubai from the other side. Isn’t it amazing? We enjoyed Hot Godiva coffee at 150 meters above the ground level and clicked some eye refreshing pictures of the view.
The last place for the day was ‘Global Village’. Of course, this is the most talked about places of Dubai, where you get to shop and eat from the various cultures of the world. Out of the lot, Turkey was my most favourite place to shop and eat. Experienced some mouth smacking Turkish delights like Simit, Kanafeh, Borek and Ice Cream. We also picked up a lot of souvenirs, artifacts etc. from various parts of the world. And in the end enjoyed some tasty Indian food at a Punjabi restaurant :)

That’s how we ended our 4 memorable and fun filled days in Dubai. Stay Tuned for the part¬†deux¬†of this post as I have 3 more days of excitement and pictures to share with you guys.
